Hoya aff. puber (Splash) is an unidentified collector Hoya circulated for its petite foliage and exceptionally attractive silver markings.

The small, oval to elongated leaves can develop irregular silver speckling, mottling, and larger patches over a dark green background. The amount of splash can vary considerably between individual leaves, with some becoming very heavily silvered while others retain substantially more green.

The designation “aff. puber” means that this plant is considered to have an affinity with, or resemblance to, Hoya puber, but has not been conclusively identified as that species. Hoya puber itself is an accepted species native to Sumatra, western Java, and Borneo.

Our plant was obtained directly from Indonesian nursery Kartel Daun under the name Hoya aff. puberulla Splash. Because “Hoya puberulla” does not appear to be a currently recognized botanical species name, we retain the provenance information while using the more commonly circulated Hoya aff. puber designation for the listing.
