Hoya caudata (Variegated) is a striking variegated form of Hoya caudata, an accepted Hoya species native from southern Thailand through western Malesia.

The foliage is what makes this plant especially interesting. Leaves are substantial and naturally textured, with an irregular, slightly rugged surface. In the variegated form, the center of the leaf can develop shades of cream, yellow, pale green, and occasionally pink, while darker green remains toward the outer portions of the leaf.

The pattern is highly variable. Some leaves may have only a narrow pale area through the center, while others can develop broad sectors of yellow or cream. Natural silver speckling may also appear across the foliage, adding another layer to the pattern.

Hoya caudata itself is known for foliage that can develop bronze or reddish tones under certain growing conditions, making the combination of texture, variegation, silver markings, and seasonal coloration especially attractive.

The species was formally published by Joseph Dalton Hooker in 1883. Its native range includes southern Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, and Borneo.

Mature plants produce small clusters of beautifully detailed flowers. The corolla is pale pink and softly hairy, with a contrasting reddish corona in the center.
