Lightly rooted cutting of Hoya deykeae 'Morning Dew'.
You will receive a plant similar to one on the photo.
Hoya deykeae 'Morning Dew' is a highly silvered collector selection of Hoya deykeae, a species originating from Sumatra, Indonesia.
Hoya deykeae is especially recognizable for its thick, broad, heart-shaped foliage and prominent venation. 'Morning Dew' adds an unusually soft silver overlay to this already distinctive leaf shape. Individual leaves may range from green with scattered silver to very heavily silvered or almost completely pale, with darker green markings showing through the silver.
The species itself has an interesting documented history. The original material was collected in Sumatra in March 1990 by Ruurd van Donkelaar and Deyke Jannink. Hoya deykeae was formally published by Ted Green in 2000 and was named in honor of Deyke van Donkelaar-Jannink.
The origin and introducer of the 'Morning Dew' selection itself do not appear to be clearly documented, although the name is now widely used in the international Hoya trade for this distinctive silver form.
