Unrooted cutting of Hoya endauensis.
Three to five nodes.

Hoya endauensis is a small and unusual Hoya species endemic to Johor in Peninsular Malaysia.

The species is especially recognizable for its petite, somewhat succulent leaves with characteristically wavy or undulating margins. Leaves are generally rounded to broadly oval and may develop yellow-green, olive, bronze, or warmer coloration depending on the individual plant and growing conditions.

Hoya endauensis has a particularly nice documented history. It was discovered by Malaysian botanist Ruth Kiew in the Ulu Endau area of Johor and formally described by her in 1989. The species was named after the Endau region where it was found.

In nature, Hoya endauensis has been documented growing as an epiphyte on trees along riverbanks in partially shaded lowland tropical forest. It is known only from a relatively restricted area of Peninsular Malaysia.

The flowers are tiny but colorful. Mature plants produce small umbels of reflexed flowers with yellow to bright orange corollas and pink-to-rose-colored centers. The flowers are considerably smaller than those of many commonly cultivated Hoyas.

We do not have original wild-collection or provenance documentation for our particular cultivated plant and cannot independently confirm or deny its relationship to the documented wild collections.

Size of the cutting

Cuttings are one node by default, unless otherwise stated. Some may have additional nodes/growth points depending on propagation time, but most will be single-node due to high demand on certain varieties. More about the size here.

Preparation Time

Most of the cuttings are pre-rooted. This ensures that the plant material is in optimal condition for transit and subsequent planting.

Appearance

Hoyas are often sold as single-node cuttings. Photos are provided to show the general appearance of the plant's foliage and may not represent the exact cutting you’ll receive. When available, details about cutting length are included in the product description. More on type on the cutting info here.

Note

The photos are provided to show the plant’s foliage more clearly—please note that we’re selling a one-node cutting by default.
