Unrooted cutting of Hoya lacunosa 'Agni' (Variegated).
Two to three nodes.
Hoya lacunosa 'Agni' is a lacunosa with striking inner variegation in shades of green, yellow, and cream.
The round-ish leaves typically develop a yellow to yellow-green center surrounded by darker green margins. The pattern can vary considerably from leaf to leaf: some leaves may develop broad areas of bright yellow, while others retain considerably more green or show a narrower central area of variegation.
Several similarly variegated Hoya lacunosa selections are currently in cultivation. In our collection, 'Agni' reminds us somewhat of 'Platano', 'Queen Midori', and 'Illumi', but each has a slightly different expression. 'Platano' tends to appear more creamy-white than yellow; 'Queen Midori' generally develops stronger, brighter yellow variegation, although some leaves may show only a narrow yellow stripe through the center; and 'Illumi' tends to produce a more irregular, scattered, and unpredictable pattern. 'Agni' usually has a softer yellow-to-green appearance with a somewhat more balanced center-variegated pattern.
These differences are observations from plants grown in our own collection and should not be considered diagnostic botanical characteristics. Growing conditions can significantly influence the appearance of variegated Hoya lacunosa.
Botanical background: Hoya lacunosa
Name in cultivation: 'Agni'
Form: Inner variegated
Notable features: Petite foliage with variable yellow-to-yellow-green central variegation and darker green margins
Please note that the amount, placement, and color of the variegation can vary considerably from leaf to leaf. Future growth may be greener or more heavily variegated, and its exact appearance cannot be guaranteed.
A note about this plant: Information concerning the 'Agni' selection, its naming, and horticultural characteristics was gathered from publicly available online sources. Comparisons with 'Platano', 'Queen Midori', and 'Illumi' are based on our own experience growing these plants side by side. We do not have original breeder, registration, or provenance documentation establishing the origin of 'Agni' and cannot independently confirm or deny its complete cultivar history.
Size of the cutting
Cuttings are one node by default, unless otherwise stated. Some may have additional nodes/growth points depending on propagation time, but most will be single-node due to high demand on certain varieties. More about the size here.
Preparation Time
Most of the cuttings are pre-rooted. This ensures that the plant material is in optimal condition for transit and subsequent planting.
Appearance
Hoyas are often sold as single-node cuttings. Photos are provided to show the general appearance of the plant's foliage and may not represent the exact cutting you’ll receive. When available, details about cutting length are included in the product description. More on type on the cutting info here.
Note
The photos are provided to show the plant’s foliage more clearly—please note that we’re selling a one-node cutting by default.
