Hoya lacunosa 'Red Leaf' is a beautiful variegated lacunosa selection with leaves patterned in green, cream, and yellow-green tones. Depending on growing conditions, the foliage can also develop warm bronze, rusty red, and reddish-pink coloration.

In our collection, the rusty red tones become especially noticeable when temperatures are cooler.

A note from our own experience: this has been one of the more temperamental Hoya lacunosa clones we grow. Our plant occasionally drops otherwise healthy-looking leaves, particularly when its environment changes. After growing it for some time, we believe this sensitivity may simply be characteristic of the clone rather than an indication that something is necessarily wrong with the plant.

Because of this behavior, some leaf loss may occur during shipping or while a cutting adjusts to a new growing environment. We recommend this plant for collectors who are comfortable giving a slightly fussier Hoya some time to acclimate.

Despite its attitude, it is a very beautiful lacunosa and one we continue to keep in our collection specifically for its unusual foliage and seasonal rusty-red coloration.
