Unrooted cutting of Hoya nyhuusiae.
One node.
One or two leaves.
Hoya nyhuusiae is an unusual Bornean Hoya species known for its compact elliptic foliage and distinctive white, bowl-shaped flowers.
The leaves are paired, smooth, and elliptic, typically deep green on the upper surface and lighter underneath, with visible netted venation. The original species description records mature leaves at approximately 4–7 cm long and 2–3 cm wide.
The flowers are especially unusual for a Hoya. Instead of the strongly reflexed star shape seen in many species, Hoya nyhuusiae produces white campanulate to bowl-shaped flowers. The inside of the corolla is covered with fine white hairs, giving the blooms a soft, textured appearance.
Hoya nyhuusiae was formally described by Dale Kloppenburg in 2003 from material originating on Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. The type plant had been grown in Sweden by renowned Hoya collector Torill Nyhuus, and the species was named in her honor.
Torill Nyhuus was an important figure in the Hoya community and participated in several collecting trips through Southeast Asia. She later served as president of the Swedish Hoya Society, and several Hoya species were associated with her collecting and botanical work.
Hoya nyhuusiae is currently recognized as an accepted species native to Borneo, including Sabah and Brunei. It is also notable for occurring at relatively high elevations on Mount Kinabalu, with published records reaching approximately 2,200 meters.

A note about this plant: Species-level botanical and historical information above is based on the original published species description, herbarium records, and publicly available taxonomic sources. We do not have original wild-collection or provenance documentation for our particular cultivated plant and cannot independently confirm or deny its connection to the original Mount Kinabalu material.
Size of the cutting
Cuttings are one node by default, unless otherwise stated. Some may have additional nodes/growth points depending on propagation time, but most will be single-node due to high demand on certain varieties. More about the size here.
Preparation Time
Most of the cuttings are pre-rooted. This ensures that the plant material is in optimal condition for transit and subsequent planting.
Appearance
Hoyas are often sold as single-node cuttings. Photos are provided to show the general appearance of the plant's foliage and may not represent the exact cutting you’ll receive. When available, details about cutting length are included in the product description. More on type on the cutting info here.
Note
The photos are provided to show the plant’s foliage more clearly—please note that we’re selling a one-node cutting by default.
