Unrooted cutting of Hoya nummularioides silver.
Three to five nodes.

Hoya nummularioides (Silver) is a silver-foliaged form of Hoya nummularioides, a compact Hoya species native to mainland Southeast Asia.

The species is known for its small, rounded to oval leaves and softly textured foliage. In the Silver form, the leaf surface develops a noticeably pale silver overlay or silver mottling, giving the normally green foliage a much lighter appearance.

Hoya nummularioides was formally published by Julien Noël Costantin in 1912 in Flore Générale de l’Indo-Chine. It is currently accepted as a distinct species.

Its documented native range includes Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam, where it grows as a climbing epiphyte or lithophyte in wet tropical habitat.

The species produces clusters of small, strongly fragrant flowers. Botanical and horticultural references describe the flowers as white with a contrasting pinkish-red corona, while the foliage of the species is characteristically finely hairy or tomentose.

Botanical name: Hoya nummularioides Costantin
Form: Silver
Native range of species: Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam

Please note that the amount and distribution of silver can vary from leaf to leaf. Future growth may be greener or more heavily silvered, and the exact appearance of new foliage cannot be guaranteed.

A note about this plant: Species-level botanical information above is based on published taxonomic records and botanical references. “Silver” is used here as a horticultural descriptor for the silver-foliaged form circulating under this name. We have not found original selection, breeder, registration, or provenance documentation establishing the origin of this Silver form and cannot independently confirm or deny those details.

Size of the cutting

Cuttings are one node by default, unless otherwise stated. Some may have additional nodes/growth points depending on propagation time, but most will be single-node due to high demand on certain varieties. More about the size here.

Preparation Time

Most of the cuttings are pre-rooted. This ensures that the plant material is in optimal condition for transit and subsequent planting.

Appearance

Hoyas are often sold as single-node cuttings. Photos are provided to show the general appearance of the plant's foliage and may not represent the exact cutting you’ll receive. When available, details about cutting length are included in the product description. More on type on the cutting info here.

Note

The photos are provided to show the plant’s foliage more clearly—please note that we’re selling a one-node cutting by default.
