Hoya 'Patcharawalai 023' × Hoya elliptica is a collector hybrid combining two very distinctive Hoyas.

The seed parent, Hoya 'Patcharawalai 023', is also widely known in cultivation as ICE023. It originated from seed-grown material associated with Patcharawalai in Thailand and has circulated for many years under several variations of the name, including the older and botanically incorrect “Hoya icensis.”

The pollen parent, Hoya elliptica, is an accepted species native from Thailand through western Malesia and is particularly recognizable for its beautifully structured foliage and prominent network of veins.

Plants from this cross can develop substantial, oval-to-elongated foliage with visible venation and a sturdy texture. As with any Hoya hybrid, individual seedlings from the same cross are not necessarily genetically identical, so foliage, splash, coloration, and flowering characteristics may differ between clones.

Because we do not have original hybridizer or seedling-selection documentation for our particular plant, we prefer to keep the parentage as its identity rather than assign it a cultivar name.
