Unrooted cutting of Hoya 'Rhiannon'.
One node.
One or two leaves.

Hoya 'Rhiannon' SS 37-03 is a collector hybrid created by Thai Hoya hybridizer Surisa Somadee and commonly documented as Hoya kerrii × Hoya erythrina.

The foliage is the main attraction. Mature leaves are thick, substantial, and broadly rounded to oval, often developing a gently cupped or slightly sculptural shape. The combination of the two parents gives 'Rhiannon' unusually full, sturdy foliage with a soft, almost lily-pad-like appearance.

The accession SS 37-03 belongs to Surisa Somadee’s seed-grown hybrid line, helping preserve the identity of this particular clone.

The cultivar was named in honor of Rhiannon Spaw of Nest Tropicals in Texas, a longtime Hoya grower and nursery owner.

Because 'Rhiannon' is a selected hybrid clone, plants propagated vegetatively from the original selection should retain its characteristic foliage. Seedlings produced from the same parental cross, however, would not automatically be genetically identical to 'Rhiannon'.

A note about this plant: The parentage, accession, hybridizer, naming, and background information above was gathered from publicly available nursery and horticultural sources. Multiple established sources consistently identify SS 37-03 as Hoya kerrii × Hoya erythrina and attribute the hybrid to Surisa Somadee, but we do not possess original hybridization or breeder documentation for our particular plant and therefore cannot independently confirm or deny its complete cultivar history.

Size of the cutting

Cuttings are one node by default, unless otherwise stated. Some may have additional nodes/growth points depending on propagation time, but most will be single-node due to high demand on certain varieties. More about the size here.

Preparation Time

Most of the cuttings are pre-rooted. This ensures that the plant material is in optimal condition for transit and subsequent planting.

Appearance

Hoyas are often sold as single-node cuttings. Photos are provided to show the general appearance of the plant's foliage and may not represent the exact cutting you’ll receive. When available, details about cutting length are included in the product description. More on type on the cutting info here.

Note

The photos are provided to show the plant’s foliage more clearly—please note that we’re selling a one-node cutting by default.
