Unrooted cutting of Hoya sp. Tanggamus 'Bamboo Leaf'.
Three to five nodes.

Hoya sp. Tanggamus (Bamboo Leaf) is an unidentified collector Hoya known for its unusually long, narrow foliage.

The leaves are slender and pointed, with a shape reminiscent of bamboo leaves. They typically remain relatively narrow even as they mature and may develop fine silver splash, scattered pale markings, and a darker edge. Newer leaves can emerge lighter green before gradually deepening in color.

This plant has circulated for several years under a surprisingly confusing group of names, including Hoya sp. Tanggamus, Hoya sp. Sumatra, Hoya sp. Bamboo Leaf, and occasionally other Sumatran locality names. Because its botanical identity and original collection history have not been formally established, we prefer to retain the Tanggamus (Bamboo Leaf) name under which our plant was received.

Tanggamus is a regency in Lampung Province on the southern end of Sumatra, Indonesia. However, without original collection records, we cannot confirm that all plants currently circulating as “Bamboo Leaf” originated from the same locality or represent the same clone.

Name in cultivation: Hoya sp. Tanggamus (Bamboo Leaf)
Also circulated as: Hoya sp. Bamboo Leaf; Hoya sp. Sumatra
Reported locality: Tanggamus / Sumatra, Indonesia
Species identification: Undetermined
Notable features: Long, narrow, pointed foliage with variable fine silver splash and occasional darker margins

Please note that leaf length, width, coloration, and the amount of splash can vary naturally between leaves and under different growing conditions.

A note about this plant: The naming, locality, and horticultural background information above was gathered from publicly available online sources. We have not found original wild-collection or botanical identification documentation establishing the exact identity or provenance of Hoya sp. Tanggamus (Bamboo Leaf), and similar material currently circulates under several different locality names. We therefore cannot independently confirm or deny its complete collection history.

Size of the cutting

Cuttings are one node by default, unless otherwise stated. Some may have additional nodes/growth points depending on propagation time, but most will be single-node due to high demand on certain varieties. More about the size here.

Preparation Time

Most of the cuttings are pre-rooted. This ensures that the plant material is in optimal condition for transit and subsequent planting.

Appearance

Hoyas are often sold as single-node cuttings. Photos are provided to show the general appearance of the plant's foliage and may not represent the exact cutting you’ll receive. When available, details about cutting length are included in the product description. More on type on the cutting info here.

Note

The photos are provided to show the plant’s foliage more clearly—please note that we’re selling a one-node cutting by default.
