Hoya tomataensis is a beautiful botanical Hoya species native to Sulawesi, Indonesia, grown for both its distinctive foliage and charming hot pink flowers.

Under brighter light, the foliage can develop striking lime-green, bronze and burgundy tones, while the contrasting vein pattern becomes especially pronounced. Coloration can vary considerably depending on the leaf and growing conditions.

Mature plants produce rounded umbels of numerous small pink to mauve, star-shaped flowers with darker centers. The flowers can be pleasantly fragrant and the species is known to flower repeatedly once established.

Hoya tomataensis was formally published in 2004 from material originating in Sulawesi. Current botanical references recognize it as an accepted species endemic to Sulawesi and place it within the Hoya camphorifolia complex, a group that still requires additional taxonomic study.

The plant offered here was received as Hoya tomataensis (Indo). We retain the "Indo" designation to distinguish this cultivated clone/provenance from other Hoya tomataensis material circulating in collections.

Leaf shape, venation and the intensity of bronze or burgundy coloration may vary with maturity and growing conditions.

A note about this plant: Hoya tomataensis is an accepted botanical species with documented origin in Sulawesi, Indonesia. The additional "Indo" designation is horticultural and reflects the name under which this particular plant was received. We have not located published documentation establishing "Indo" as a formally recognized botanical variety or cultivar, so we retain it only as a clone/provenance identifier.
