Unrooted cutting of Hoya para (Albomarginata).
One node.
One or two leaves.

Hoya 'Para' (Albomarginata) is a distinctive collector Hoya known for its green foliage bordered by contrasting cream-to-white marginal variegation.

The leaves are substantial and somewhat elongated, with irregular pale margins that can vary considerably in width from leaf to leaf. Some leaves may retain only a narrow cream edge, while others can develop much broader pale sectors. Under brighter growing conditions, the margins and new growth may also develop attractive pink or reddish tones.

Related collector form: Hoya 'Para' also circulates in an inverted variegated form known as 'Emerald Frost' (sometimes sold as Para Princess 'Emerald Frost'). In that form, most of the leaf is cream to pale yellow or nearly white, while a narrower emerald-green area remains toward the center — essentially the reverse visual pattern of the standard Albomarginata form.

The exact botanical identity and origin of Hoya 'Para' do not appear to be clearly documented. The plant is well established in international Hoya collections under the name 'Para', but we have not found reliable published evidence identifying it as a formally described species.

An especially interesting flowering observation was documented by an experienced European Hoya grower in 2025. Their Hoya 'Para' Albomarginata produced flowers showing variegation in the corolla itself. Because this has so far been reported as an individual cultivation observation, it is not known whether variegated flowers are a stable characteristic of the clone or an occasional expression.

Name in cultivation: Hoya 'Para'
Form: Albomarginata / Outer Variegated
Botanical identity: Undetermined
Notable features: Dark green foliage with variable cream-to-white outer variegation and potential pink-to-red coloration along the margins

Please note that the width, placement, and coloration of the variegated margins can vary naturally from leaf to leaf, and the appearance of future growth cannot be guaranteed.

A note about this plant: The naming, identity, flowering observations, and horticultural background information above were gathered from publicly available online sources. We have not found original collection, breeder, or botanical identification documentation establishing the exact origin or species identity of Hoya 'Para' and cannot independently confirm or deny those details.

Size of the cutting

Cuttings are one node by default, unless otherwise stated. Some may have additional nodes/growth points depending on propagation time, but most will be single-node due to high demand on certain varieties. More about the size here.

Preparation Time

Most of the cuttings are pre-rooted. This ensures that the plant material is in optimal condition for transit and subsequent planting.

Appearance

Hoyas are often sold as single-node cuttings. Photos are provided to show the general appearance of the plant's foliage and may not represent the exact cutting you’ll receive. When available, details about cutting length are included in the product description. More on type on the cutting info here.

Note

The photos are provided to show the plant’s foliage more clearly—please note that we’re selling a one-node cutting by default.
