Unrooted cutting of Hoya aff. tengchongensis.
Three to five nodes.
Hoya aff. tengchongensis is a charming small-leaved collector Hoya grown for its compact foliage and delicate trailing growth.
The plant produces small green leaves along slender vines, creating a dense, miniature appearance as it matures. Its compact foliage makes it especially attractive for collectors who enjoy the smaller-leaved Hoyas.
The designation "aff." means affinity and indicates that this plant resembles Hoya tengchongensis but has not been conclusively identified as that species.
Hoya tengchongensis was originally described in 2019 from material collected in Tengchong County, Yunnan, China. The species was characterized by its creeping growth, small rounded leaves and very small pubescent flowers.
More recently, botanical research has placed Hoya tengchongensis in synonymy with Hoya nummularia. However, because the plant offered here has historically circulated specifically as Hoya aff. tengchongensis and its identity has not been botanically confirmed, we retain the established horticultural name rather than relabeling it as Hoya nummularia.
A note about this plant: The name Hoya aff. tengchongensis reflects the name under which this clone circulates in cultivation and should not be interpreted as a confirmed species identification. Current botanical references treat Hoya tengchongensis itself as a synonym of Hoya nummularia, but we have not found documentation establishing that this cultivated aff. tengchongensis clone belongs to either taxon.
Size of the cutting
Cuttings are one node by default, unless otherwise stated. Some may have additional nodes/growth points depending on propagation time, but most will be single-node due to high demand on certain varieties. More about the size here.
Preparation Time
Most of the cuttings are pre-rooted. This ensures that the plant material is in optimal condition for transit and subsequent planting.
Appearance
Hoyas are often sold as single-node cuttings. Photos are provided to show the general appearance of the plant's foliage and may not represent the exact cutting you’ll receive. When available, details about cutting length are included in the product description. More on type on the cutting info here.
Note
The photos are provided to show the plant’s foliage more clearly—please note that we’re selling a one-node cutting by default.
