Hoya 'Elvis' is a collector Hoya selection with an interesting horticultural history. According to Hoya cultivar records, it originated among unnamed seedlings grown at Patcharawalai Hoyagarden in Thailand and was later selected and named after being grown on in Russia.

Its exact parentage is not documented. The seedlings from this group were produced through open pollination, and it is not known whether 'Elvis' and the other named selections from the same group originated from the same seed pod.

'Elvis' is especially attractive for its broad, substantial foliage with pronounced venation and irregular silver splash. Under brighter conditions, some of the splash and foliage may also develop pink or reddish tones.
