Hoya linearis is a distinctive botanical Hoya species immediately recognizable by its long, trailing stems and narrow, needle-like foliage.

Unlike the broad, leathery leaves typical of many Hoyas, Hoya linearis produces slender linear leaves approximately 2.5–5 cm long. The leaves and young stems have a soft, finely hairy surface, giving mature vines their characteristic slightly fuzzy appearance.

The species is native to parts of the Himalayas and Southeast Asia, with a documented range extending from Nepal and northeastern India through Myanmar to southwestern China and Indochina. In nature it grows as an epiphyte in evergreen forests, including higher-elevation habitats around 1,500–2,000 meters.

Mature plants develop long, cascading vines and are especially striking when grown as hanging specimens.

Hoya linearis produces clusters of delicate white, star-shaped flowers. The flowers are fragrant and appear in umbels along mature trailing growth.

Hoya linearis was formally published by David Don in 1825 and remains an accepted botanical species.
