Hoya 'Lorelai' is a recently registered Hoya cultivar known for its extraordinary silver foliage.

The cultivar originated as a spontaneous silver mutation of Hoya sp. EPC 196, also circulated in collections as Hoya sp. RB-Dick EPC 196. The mutation was discovered by Canadian grower Carmen Zhang in 2022 and was propagated through successive generations to establish its stability. 'Lorelai' was accepted for cultivar registration in 2025 and was named after the originator's niece.

The leaves display approximately 80–90% structural variegation, producing a dense silver appearance rather than conventional cream or white variegation. Green typically remains along the primary and secondary veins, creating a distinctive feathered pattern across each leaf.

Under stronger light, the silver foliage can develop beautiful pink, rose and deep purplish-red tones. The amount of silver, green veining and sun-stress can vary from leaf to leaf.

Mature plants produce yellow reflexed flowers with translucent white coronas and can produce both fragrance and nectar.

The exact taxonomic identity of the original EPC 196 parent material remains unresolved, so 'Lorelai' is best identified by its registered cultivar name rather than assigned to a particular Hoya species.
