Hoya medinillifolia is an accepted Hoya species from Borneo, formally described by Michele Rodda and Nadhanielle Simonsson in 2011 from material collected in Sarawak.

It develops striking, elongated lance-shaped leaves with pointed tips and a substantial, leathery texture. Young stems can also become laterally flattened — an unusual characteristic it shares with the closely related-looking Hoya platycaulis.

The original botanical description compares Hoya medinillifolia with Hoya multiflora and Hoya platycaulis, but distinguishes it by its characteristic leaf venation and heart-shaped corona lobes.
